Dear Family and Friends of CFPC
Joy to the World, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, Yes it’s that time of the year to give and receive but one of the sayings that keeps going through my head is, Remember the Reason for the Season.
I hear this saying, I read this saying all over town, and I hear sermons preached on this saying from now till new years. My question is, are we really remembering the reason for the season.
CFPC as we all are rushing to decorate and fight the crowds to buy gifts and to make this a great Christmas for our family, friends and having family dinners let’s really Remember the Reason for the Season.
It’s not who has the best decorated house or who buys their kids the most gifts or even who has to best Christmas dinner. If we are not careful we will get wrapped up in trying to please one another instead of pleasing the one who was wrapped in a manger.
The song I started with in this letter said “let every heart prepare HIM room” and I want to encourage you do just that while you are preparing to have a great Christmas, be sure to prepare some room for our Savior The Lord Jesus Christ.
After all if it was not for Jesus coming to this earth this season would not even be happing and would be a lost Generation.
I know we all have big plans for Christmas, going out of town and eating dinners with relatives but take some time on Christmas day and Remember the Reason for the Season. If you have to stop the family and just say a prayer and thank Jesus for making this season possible.
Yes Christmas is on Sunday, and we will have a short service at 10 A.M. to Remember the Reason for the Season. May the Lord Our Savior Bless you and your Family on this Christmas 2011.
God Bless,
Pastor Terry Hunt
